Board of Directors
Jeannette Gysbers | Board Chair
Since becoming a volunteer with CPAWS Edmonton in 1999, Jeannette has contributed her time to numerous activities, including outreach programs and publications, and fundraising events, In 2002, Jeannette also added the role of board member to her CPAWS commitments. Jeannette's motivation stems from her concerns about the impact that forestry and oil and gas development are having on Alberta's boreal forest. In her current position with Global Forest Watch Canada, Jeannette is helping to map out the disturbances caused by these industries using satellite images in conjunction with various data layers. In addition to her involvement in conservation issues and labour activism, Jeannette's interests include photography, literature and art.
